Meal plans are included as a part of the housing/meal packages or meal-only packages available at Global Finals. The first meal included will be dinner on your arrival day. You will then be eligible for three meals a day each day. The meal plan ends after dinner on your last night in housing. Meals will be served in campus cafeterias, hotel dining areas, and outdoor locations (for picnic-style lunches). Each team will be assigned to a cafeteria near its housing location where breakfast and dinner will be served. Color-coded wristbands will be distributed at Registration and must be worn and shown in order to gain access to assigned cafeterias.
Breakfast and dinner will be served in your assigned cafeteria. However, for your convenience, picnic-style lunches will be served in several outdoor locations both on campus and in the downtown Knoxville area. Special dietary concerns can be accommodated with advance notice. (See the “Special Needs” tab in the online registration system.)
Note: All participants arriving before 7 p.m. on Tuesday are invited to the Global Finals Luau in World’s Fair Park from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. This event will serve as dinner for all event participants who purchased a Tuesday Arrival Housing & Meal package. Pizza will be available for late arriving teams.
Special Dietary Info
- There are vegetarian options at all meals.
- All of our meal outlets are completely nut free. There are no foods with nuts or cooked in peanut oil that are offered.
- There are gluten free options at every campus location. If you are staying in one of the hotels that are on the UT housing and meal plan, please alert the conference center staff at the door for specific concerns. There will be vegetarian options on the buffet line but other dietary restrictions may be in the kitchen. We have arranged for these items to be available upon request.
- At lunches, which will be outside, line #1 or the line to the far left will be the line that has the specific vegetarian items, gluten free items, and a list of every ingredient in the lunch food.
At every UT meal location, there are staff members that can help with other specific dietary needs. These individuals will introduce you to the food service employees that can help with specific ingredients in food or specific concerns.
